From: John Aldrich ------------------------------------------------------ Our marketing guy called me this morning complaining that his Adobe Illustrator was not allowing him to save his work. It lets him do everything he wants to do, but when he goes to save, it starts to save in a different, "temporary" location than he told it to and then crashes. We have double-checked that the program is fully updated, at least according to the built-in update utility. He said he's read somewhere that problems with printers will somehow cause this sort of thing in Adobe, and his primary printer (networked) was acting up, but I printed a test page to that printer from his workstation and it printed fine. Machine in question is Windows XP Pro (32-bit.)

I'm still thinking about grabbing one of my old IDE hard drives that have been sitting around for years on a shelf gathering dust and using one of 'em as a "scratch disk" for Adobe. :-) I mean, what else am I going to do with a 2 Gig IDE drive anyway? ;-)
