Need to build a printer server. Was looking at an Aopen BB10. But I don't think it takes addon pci cards.
Any suggestions?
=============================================================== From: "Alex Smith (K4RNT)" ------------------------------------------------------ Why not use JetDirects or similar embedded devices, then offer the queues via LPR/SMB ? That removes the need for PCI cards... I probably misread your intent. --=20 " ' With the first link, the chain is forged. Cool idea, just may be cheaper to use a soho router for this purpose then invest in a bigger PC. :) --=20 " ' With the first link, the chain is forged. And might I suggest buying devices intended for that purpose? Especially if we're talking about one or two printers? Regards, dtb =============================================================== From: Rod-Lists ------------------------------------------------------ Well this a home setting. My Aunt's. They will need a new pc or notebook. If they get a notebook they will need a wifi. They have a Monitor, KB, mouse and printer and dsl router. Instead of buying a new printer I would rather set up something that uses what they have. The PCI addition (for the wifi router card) is just in case they do get the netbook that they can use the printer. I like this but can add a card. http://www.orbitmicro.com/company/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/001 |
