slightly OT

I was gifted an OptiPlex SX280 a while back. Just finally got around to
playing with it. Since it's small, I was hoping to connect it to my TV and
use it as a HTPC or something similar, but I realized it only had a
DVI-out, no VGA, and no expansion slots. My TV has a DVI connection.
Looking online, I see there is DVI-I, DVI-A, DVI-D. Is there a particular
cable I need?

Looked on Newegg and they have a "dvi cable" for around $5. It doesn't
mention any of the above.

Also, if anyone is interested, I have 4 SCSI hdd's that were working pulls
from a Dell PowerEdge server. I have the caddies as well if anyone needs
those. 3 of them have been removed from the caddy and the 4th one has a
screw that I can't see to get out, so it's still in the caddy. They are
Seagate Cheetah 15k 36GB U320 80 pin.

And now back to our regularly schedule broadcast.

=============================================================== From: Bret McHone ------------------------------------------------------ If you are around Knoxville or can meet me Friday when i come down to chattanooga I can give you one. We have a dell pc box full of unused dvi cables. -Bret

=============================================================== From: Michael Scholten ------------------------------------------------------ That PC has a DVI-I connector in it. I have several of those cables as well if you need/want one sooner. I'm pretty much free after 4pm most days. -Michael

=============================================================== From: Bret McHone ------------------------------------------------------ Carey, I have torn my house apart trying to find the cable I set aside for you. = I'm not sure if my wife "put it up" somewhere or if one of my kids (1 = 1/2 & 3) decided it was a toy and stashed it somewhere. I would probably have to defer you to Michael for the cable if you want = it tomorrow, I'm really sorry about it. If things fall through there = I'll get another one next week and mail the thing to you. Sorry again, Bret well if you need/want one sooner. I'm pretty much free after 4pm most = days. wrote: chattanooga I can give you one. We have a dell pc box full of unused dvi = cables. to playing with it. =============================================================== From: Carey A ------------------------------------------------------ No problem. I'll see if Michael stil has one I can use.

=============================================================== From: Carey A ------------------------------------------------------ Bret wasn't able to find the cable that he had set aside for me. Do you still have one I can use?
