google , iCal, & iCalendar question

I'm planning to deploy at least one site( possibly more) that uses iCalendar on rss feeds.
Then I heard google is dropping iCal support. First, do they mean iCal or iCalendar? I hear there is some confusion between the two.
Second, do they mean te reports that google is dropping CalendarDAV? That should't affect since I'm using RSS.

Need some advice here.
