I spent a weekend with Alpha 21 not too long ago.

First of all, Kudos to Andrew and the rest of the team. This has been
years in development, and it's been years since I checked in on it.
I'd advise to stay away from using DLZ zones with Bind right now. It
is possible to begin your install, make an invalid installation
choice, and have to basically start all over from scratch because you
have no way of editing your DNS zone.

But, you can build a working Active Directory server, that will
process login events from clients, apply group policies, run login
scripts, etc.
It does require more in the resource department than Samba 3 also, but
I think that is to be expected.

Regards,

dtb
