A coworker got a KindleFire today.
I'm already jealous.... Touchpad doesn't feel as awesome as it did
yesterday.

=============================================================== From: David Della Vecchia ------------------------------------------------------ I used a friends kindlefire, the interface was very sluggish. That's a deal breaker for me. =============================================================== From: Chris Mowery ------------------------------------------------------ I really like my TouchPad running CM7, it is buttery smooth interface wise. If you've installed PreWare on the TouchPad it is easy. You need the TouchPad SDK for novaterm/novacom so you can install the bootloader and ROMs with ACME Installer, then you just load your .zip files on the TouchPad and use the normal ClockworkRecovery method to update. Or use the ACME Installer to update to new .zip files. It also has an Uninstaller. http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/33227-alpha-cyanogenmod-7-for-the-hp-tou= chpad-v710-alpha-21-19-oct-2011-dont-link-directly-to-files/ It runs well, very fast. The only issue I've had is the occasional refusal to wake from sleep. If you hold the power and home button and restart it, comes right back up. There is even a "Reboot to WebOS" option in the reboot menu. Does bluetooth and everything else work on it now? Last I read (been a while back) there were still some minor driver problems. Cyanogen kicks ass. =============================================================== From: Chris Mowery ------------------------------------------------------ I haven't tried anything with Bluetooth but everything else seems good. comtemplating putting Android on it. I like the fact that it doesnt replace WebOS, and you can still boot back into it. I think HP really missed it with WebOS. Its actually pretty nice. With more app developers it would have taken off I think. =============================================================== From: Chris Mowery ------------------------------------------------------ Oh definitely, the OS is very nice. It doesn't take full advantage of the hardware as Cyanogen shows, but should have been a strong competitor. =============================================================== From: William Wade ------------------------------------------------------ Well I got mine up and running with it last night. Only got one triangle-exclamation-point-android error. It is quite nice. The only thing I miss is the multi-tasking method of WebOS.
