From: Tim Youngblood ------------------------------------------------------ I thought I'd ping y'all first. CodeScience, Inc. is opening a new office in Chattanooga in early 2012 and it is time to start finding some local talent. People who have thrived historically: - listen to problems and data model them in their head - know more than one language across the compiled/interpreted divide - want to know more about this whole 'cloud thing' - minimal body odor Pluses that might make us forget one of the above items: - you are a mobile developer (Android and iOS) - you like both kinds of music (country and western) - you like mountain biking and pretending you are out of shape when riding with your boss If you fit this description, you may need therapy, but you also may be a good candidate for our small but profitable company. If you know someone that fits this description, refer them and you'll get a special prize which, on this list, means beer. To avoid this tipping into the shameless plug territory, please contact me and I'll be happy to talk more about our clients (95% repeat business) and our verticals. Thank you, Tim Ps. If you like iPhones then forget it.

=============================================================== From: rd ------------------------------------------------------ Please see reply at bottom: Quoting Tim Youngblood : Boss Tim, I have existing code in VAX Fortran ( on paper only ), in (Fortran-like, static memory) C, and in ( C-like ) C++ with no fancy templates or wild inheritance. Also I have a Python example or two. These I have used and can show off a little code, all but Fortran electronically. I've written for ( at least my own ) use in various Basic, JCL, DCL, Dos bat, Wylbur, SAS, and 6502 assembler ( one registered copyright ), but have no code samples except maybe the 6502. I have played with APL, algol, Forth, and others, and had Cobol and Java in school. Except for code samples and conversation, all my credentials are very old and hard to prove. The last I worked as a programmer or analyst was in Oct. 1987. I'm retired but getting only mild Social Security and no Medicare ( I'm 64 ). I ride a bicycle ( sometimes it's with my 12 y.o., but the State has her for the moment ), but I would not have to pretend to be in shape less than marvelous. I was originally a Physics major but changed to Computer Science. I got an Associate's Degree along the way, and I have plenty of credits for a 4 year degree but did not finish all required courses for that. I would be glad to work for you in a small or large way, or even bicycle with you to talk about it. Any HR people and I would just barf on one another because of paragraph 4. My phone number ( cell ) is 423 653-9715, and you have my email address. Why don't we talk and/or ride ? -- R.D.Flowers, in Chattanooga Be a heretic, my sister !
