Needing help with an HP Proliant DL360 G5 server notgetting out of post.

From: Lynn Dixon
------------------------------------------------------
Ok. I posted on the HP Proliant self-help forums and it looks like the port
85 code I am getting is due to RAM configuration. Heres the link to the
forum posting. I go by the name "CubedRoot" on those forums.
http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/DL360-G5-not-not-getting-out-of-post-Fans-100-and-no-video/m-p/5313397/highlight/false#M123599

So, I have tried different ram (PC2-5300F) in the proper configuration in 2
separate motherboards and I am getting the same error on each motherboard.
I have 4 sticks on known-to-be-good 2gig PC2-5300F ram that I swapped in,
and tried various combinations and the machine still gave the same port 85
code. I have more details in that link above, but do any of you guys have
any other suggestions?
If anyone knows an HP Proliant technician that would like to earn some cash
on the side, shoot me their info..heh.

=============================================================== From: Lynn Dixon ------------------------------------------------------ Aaron, Thanks for selling me the processor today, but unfortunately it didnt seem to help. I am getting the same exact results with this processor, even after resetting the cmos. I have also tried it on the second motherboard I bought in hopes of finding a working combination somehow. =============================================================== From: Lynn Dixon ------------------------------------------------------ No, unfortunately these DL360 with give an interlock error if the machine i= s plugged in without the PCIx riser adapter inserted. =============================================================== From: Lynn Dixon ------------------------------------------------------ Na, I dont mind signing the lease, especially when its only $30 per month.
