I wonder if a hackerspace could make something like this and sell them for support funds?

=============================================================== From: wes ------------------------------------------------------ I recently visited a "makerspace" in my area (Portland, OR) and they pay the bills by subletting space to small businesses. They rent out at something like $1.20 per square foot per month (including utilities). Renting out about 80% the space at that rate covers the rent for the whole building, and the rest is available for the community. Obviously, if the community's interest grows, more investment would come from there and less of the building's space would have to be sublet to cover costs, and so more of it would be available for community usage. -wes
